Support Music with Story
Join Urban Tellers Leigh Hancock, Howard Bulick, and Mari Mathias for an evening of storytelling and music on Saturday, October 17th. Pianist Bob Schwarz plays music inspired by their original stories.
Show starts at 7 pm at Bethel Congregational, 480 East Jewett Boulevard in White Salmon, WA, just across the bridge from Hood River.
Make a donation at the door. All proceeds to support music in the White Salmon schools.
Alberta Abbey
The Abbey is home to Portland Story Theater and is one of Portland's most unique creative spaces and performance venues. Located two blocks west of MLK at 126 NE Alberta, the Abbey bridges the Alberta Arts District and the Historic Mississippi District.

Portland Story Theater is ratcheting up the fear factor as we open our doors to Spellbound over at the Alberta Abbey. You'll experience the Abbey in a whole new way, with lighting and special effects by Billy Bork of The Attic and music by Meoneo, renowned jazz duo from Bonn, Germany. Sam A. Mowry hosts as these fine storytellers ‒ Tim Stapleton, Annie La Ganga, Mary Welch, Lawrence Howard and Lynne Duddy ‒ share real, true stories of the supernatural at 8 pm on Saturday, October 24th. Come early when the doors open at 7 pm to enjoy the music, mingle with the storytellers, and have a Ninkasi. 17+ ok if accompanied by an adult.  Meoneo House Concert
 Claudia Huismann (vocals) and Werner Krotz-Vogel (guitar) are Meoneo. In addiiton to playing at Spellbound, you can also catch them on Tuesday, October 20th when they put on a free house concert in NE Portland. This will be an intimate evening of Meoneo's music, a delicate balance of jazz and pop, immensely fresh and cheerful. Don't miss this chance to hear their joyous original compositions in the intimate atmosphere of a house concert. Doors 6:30 pm and music at 7 pm. Sign-up! In this day-long intensive, we focus on helping you craft your story. We'll work with you to identify your story source material, and delve into the elements of story, then we'll break into smaller groups to share our ideas. This workshop is designed for people who want to work on a story without the pressure of having to perform. It's just one day and it all happens on Sunday, November 22th from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm.
